The Give A Hand Project

The Qweshunga "Give a Hand" project is a community-driven initiative focused on providing assistance and support to those in need. We support causes that require fundraising and by mobilizing community members through the collective efforts of volunteers, the project makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing hardship and promotes a sense of belonging and mutual support within the community.

We have so far organized four fundraising events, for a library, for school fees , for sickle cells disease treatment and for children’s literacy.

Here's a detailed description of how this project operates:

1. Identification of Needs: We identify specific needs within the community, whether it's individuals facing financial hardship, seniors requiring assistance with daily tasks, families struggling with food insecurity, or other vulnerable groups.

2. Recruitment of Volunteers: Volunteers are recruited from the community who are willing to donate their time, skills, or resources to help meet these needs. This is done through outreach efforts, social media campaigns, or partnerships with local organizations.

3. Training and Resources: Volunteer receive training or access to resources to enhance their ability to provide assistance. This often includes simulation workshops on effective communication, cultural sensitivity training, or information about available community services and resources.

4. Community Engagement and Awareness: The "Give a Hand" project raises awareness about the needs identified within the community and promotes a culture of giving and solidarity. This involves organizing community play events, fundraisers, or awareness campaigns to garner support for the project and inspire others to get involved.

5. Evaluation and Impact Assessment: Periodic evaluations are conducted to assess the impact of the project and identify areas for improvement. This involves collecting data on the number of individuals served, the types of assistance provided, and the overall satisfaction of volunteers and recipients.
