Dear Mom,
I don’t think there are enough words in the world to truly express how much I appreciate you, but today, I’ll try.
Thank you, Mom, for your endless love for me, for us, for this family. Your love is the kind that wraps around us like a warm blanket, even when we are miles apart. You have been our guide, our protector, our teacher, and our greatest cheerleader.
I admire your strength more than words can say. No matter what life throws your way, you stand firm, leading us with wisdom and grace. You have faced challenges head-on, never allowing them to shake your faith or your love for us. You have been our rock, holding everything together with resilience, determination, and an unbreakable spirit.
Beyond your strength, I admire how you embrace change. Life keeps moving, times keep evolving, but you always find a way to adapt. Whether it’s learning new ways to connect with us, adjusting to new traditions—like those game nights where you even played PlayStation just to understand what we, the boys, love about it—or keeping up with the ever-changing world, you do it with ease. You never let the past hold you back; instead, you take what is good from it and carry it forward. That ability to grow, change, and still stay true to yourself is something I deeply admire about you.
Of course, I can’t write this letter without mentioning your disciplinary skills—because, Mom, we all know you never played around! Coming home late? Caning. Dusty, dirty clothes after playing too much? Caning. But somehow, even in those moments, we knew it came from love. And looking back, I can’t help but laugh at how many times I thought I could outrun you—only to realize you had eyes everywhere!
Beyond the discipline, though, you have always been our soft place to land. When I was sick, you were there, making sure I was warm, fed, and comforted. When school felt overwhelming, you encouraged me, sat with me, and reminded me that I was capable. And through it all, your prayers have carried us. Even when we didn’t hear them, even when we didn’t ask, we know you have been lifting us up in prayer every single day. That alone is a blessing we can never take for granted.
Mom, you are a pillar of strength, a well of wisdom, and a heart full of love. I am grateful for you today and always. May God bless you with as much joy as you have given us.
With all my love,
Your son
